Yarra Trail Medical was formed during the COVID-19 global pandemic, where the people of Melbourne endured some of the longest lockdowns in the world. Severely restricted in their activities and suffering from the effects of lockdown, people turned in droves to walking in nature - on the trails of the Yarra and her tributaries that extend across Melbourne.


These trail walks had meaningful and lasting effects on many people's physical, psychological and emotional health and strengthened relationships with each other and their communities.

  • Accessibility
    We have dedicated accessible parking, a wheelchair ramp at the front and accessible bathrooms. If you have any specific requests, please feel free to call or email our team and we can provide you with the information and adjustments you may need including the National Relay Service.
  • Appointments
    Our standard appointment times are for 20 minutes. Double appointments are available and attract a larger gap. Please book online or call us on 03 4210 0696 to make an appointment SMS message reminders for appointment times are sent the day before your appointment. Please specify which doctor you would like to see and the length of consultation that you require at the time of booking.

  • Cancellations and Missed Appointments
    We know that things happen, but please do let us know as soon as possible if you cannot make an appointment. A cancellation fee of the full cost of the appointment will apply to missed appointments without notice provided and must be paid prior to your next appointment.

  • Fees
    Please see our up to date fees page here. Medicare requires the full payment amount, plus the gap payment to be made before a rebate can be processed. Medicare sets an amount per attendance based on services provided, and we charge a gap. There are over 5000 Medicare items in Australia making it difficult to estimate your fees. For a standard ​20 minute adult appointment ($139.70) must be paid on the day with credit card or debit card, with a Medicare rebate processed into your account ($79.70). This will leave you $60 out of pocket.

  • How to Get Here, Public Transport and Parking"
    We are next to the Briar Hill shops and have a carpark available for patients. The carpark is accessible from the laneway between our building and the Briar Hill shops, and can be entered from both Mountain View Road and Sherbourne Road. The 513 bus stop is directly out the front of our building. We are 900m (12 minute walk) from the 517 and 518 bus stop We are 800m (10 minute walk) from the 902 bus stop We are a 1.3km (17 minute walk) from Montmorency Station
  • Medical Certificates
    We are happy to provide medical certificates when appropriate. If you forgot to get a medical certificate, please contact our reception team at
  • Privacy and Confidentiality

  • Results
    To ensure follow up of your results, please make sure you book an appointment to talk through these after any investigations have been arranged. Our team will only contact you with urgent results.
  • Scripts
    We do not provide scripts to patients without an appointment. Please contact our reception team to make an appointment for a check up and your script.
  • SMS Reminders
    If you opted in when you signed up, we will send you SMS reminders about your appointments, your health and your results
  • Telehealth
    If you have seen one of our GPs face to face in the last 12 months, we will gladly provide your consultation by telehealth.
  • Transfer of Medical Records
    Do you need your medical records sent to or from another clinic? We need to authorise this with your consent. Please note that some medical clinics will charge to send your file to us. Please contact us at for more information.
