dr peter walsh

General Practitioner

BSc (Hons), BMBS, PhD, DCH

Dr Peter is a caring and compassionate GP who grew up in Yallambie and is a father of two. As well as his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, Peter has a PhD in molecular and cell biology, has recently won an award with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and is known for his frontline work in the COVID-19 pandemic response

Peter is a strong believer in taking time to listen to his patients, enjoys all areas of General Practice and has a special interest in mental health, sports injuries, minor surgery and chronic disease management. Peter has a special interest in the link between diet, inflammation, insulin resistance and other conditions such as weight gain and PCOS and is a strong advocate of the keto diet. He has worked remotely as a GP and in hospital roles in emergency departments, obstetrics and surgery.

Peter is excellent with children and has completed additional paediatrics training with a Diploma of Child Health. Peter is a Collingwood supporter (though don't hold that against him!)


Renowned for his quiet and gentle manner, and excellent medical knowledge - Dr Ammar practices all areas of general practice and has special interests in preventative health, dermatology as well as paediatrics. Dr Ammar has been working as a GP for the last 5 years and lives in the local area.​


Dr Ammar enjoys taking his time with his patients, providing a comprehensive service and is excellent with both adults and children. 

Dr Ammar has two children he loves spending time with, playing tennis and following the soccer.

Chris is a rurally trained GP with diverse experience in obstetrics, emergency and general medicine. He has worked from far North Queensland to Regional Victoria, with a focus on Rural Generalist Medicine. 


Chris aims to provide quality care to all his patients with continuity in mind. He is equipped to deal with all facets of General Practice, and is happy to see anyone who walks through the door. With special skills in providing families with preconception, pregnancy, shared care and postnatal care, he would be delighted to look after you during this time.


Beyond the clinic, Chris enjoys fishing and spending time with his family.

Bill took up medicine after 20 years as a physiotherapist, and has worked predominantly as a rural generalist, with a keen interest in Primary Prevention of Violence, including all forms of harms, self directed, domestic violence, family and community and intimate partner violence, systems for minimising vertical and horizontal workplace violence and bullying.

Dr Bill has an enormous amount of experiencing working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, in the family violence space and is an accredited MS2Step provider. 

Bill has a lovely, friendly approach to general practice and works from a holistic perspective.

Georgia also has a diploma of health science which is where she found her passion for the health industry. Georgia is very excited to help all Yarra Trail Medical patients to ensure they experience above and beyond service.

Jasmine has worked in a variety of positions within the hospitality and retail industries. She applies her passionate and enthusiastic attitude to many aspects of her life, ensuring individuals and patients feel valued.


Jasmine is interested in the health and wellbeing of the community and is currently studying Speech Pathology. She aspires to work closely with children, and is excited to see where this field of study takes her in the future.

Ashley has a background in hospitality and is currently studying a Bachelor of Science and Biomedical Science.  Ashley is passionate about providing excellent customer service by listening to guests and personalising every experience. She strives to create a warm and welcoming environment for all patients, so they feel better the moment they walk through the door.  

Erin is an executive leader who has previously led, designed, provided oversight and managed general practices in the not-for-profit sector. Erin holds a Master of Public Health and a Juris Doctor. 

Erin works with patients to genuinely listen and understand their needs and ensures a smooth and supportive customer experience. Erin is always looking to improve systems and make things easier for patients and clinicians.
